Organic Brown Jasmine Rice is a long aromatic, whole grain rice, particularly fragrant speciality rice. It has a firm texture and the smell is sweet and floral. Brown Jasmine Rice contains the hull and because it has not been milled like white jasmine rice, it is rich in fibre and nutrients.
One 195g serving of cooked Brown Jasmine Rice is high in Manganese, Selenium and a source of Thiamin (B1), Niacin (B3), Pyridoxine (B6), Magnesium, Phosphorus and Copper. The fragrance from jasmine rice is naturally caused by the evaporation of an aroma compound called 2-Acetyl-1-pyrroline. This compound is also found in white bread, basmati rice, and pandan.
For every cup of brown jasmine rice, use 1 ½ cups of water, and cooks in approximately 30 minutes.
