Before using oregano essential oil it is prudent to first complete a SKIN TEST.
If your skin is sensitive, first test any new essential oil product before using it. With Oregano essential oil, a known skin irritant, everyone should test it on their skin before using, by diluting to 1%: 1 drop Oregano essential oil in 1 teaspoon of carrier oil and apply some of the mixture to the inner elbow crease. Leave uncovered and do not wash the area for 24 hrs. If redness or irritation occurs, discontinue the use of Oregano Essential Oil immediately. If well tolerated with no redness or irritation, it is considered safe for you to use at that 1% strength. Then try a 2% dilution-2 drops in 1 teaspoon carrier and check for any reaction in the same way. This is usually strong enough for use.
If desired and for localized use only, test up to 3% - 3 drops in 1 teaspoon carrier and check for any reaction in the same way. Do not exceed what your skin will tolerate. Nearly everyone can use natural plant products safely, but it is difficult to predetermine specific sensitivities or allergic reactions.
Dilute up to 6-8 drops in 1 Tablespoon carrier oil and apply to affected areas of athlete's foot
Dilute up to 7-9 drops in 1 Tablespoon carrier oil and apply a small amount to areas affected by nail fungus
Dilute up to 3 drops in 1 Tablespoon Avocado oil and apply some of the blend to areas affected by psoriasis
If skin irritation occurs at any time using essential oils, immediately wash the area with soap and water and discontinue use.
Blends well with: Lavender, Pine, Rosemary, Citronella and Cedarwood
