Coriander has been known in Asia for thousands of years and was even found in the tomb of the Egyptian pharaoh Tutankhamun. Ground coriander powder is perfect for adding to meat as rubs, curries or breads and baked goods like pumpkin pies, sweet potatoes, spice cookies or homemade granola.

Coriander is a fun spice to experiment with. Try it in rice, homemade chicken soup, Chili and all things Mexican, or add a pinch to 1/2 tsp finely chopped ginger, 1/2 tsp fennel seeds and some fresh mint leaves with honey to taste, for a tummy taming mug of tea. Steep 5 min and enjoy.

Storage Advice:
“How long do spices last?”

Depends on both the type of spice and the conditions under which they are stored. Correctly dried and stored spices do not actually spoil. But over time, they will lose their potency, aroma and flavour.

Ground coriander powder goes stale quickly, use it within six months for optimum flavour and freshness.

Here are some tips for maximising the shelf life of your spices:
• Store in an airtight container.
• Store in a cool, dark cupboard.
• Store away from direct heat, sunlight and moisture.
• Keep lid tightly closed when not in use.
